Rubby Ducky, You’re (Not) the One: How to Update Your Bathroom in One Weekend

Is there just a small something about your bathroom that you don’t like? Sometimes it’s hard to put your finger on exactly what is wrong but we’re here to tell you that small changes to decor can bring the largest results.

Sometimes you can alter the entire look of a space by just cleaning up some clutter, adding a plant, changing your curtains, or trading out an old mirror. These are all things you can do in the course of a day or a weekend.

Here are five really simple ways you can update your bathroom during your weekend off of work or school.

1. Double Up Your Shower Curtains

The old saying goes two is better than one and that is definitely the case when it comes to shower curtains.

You can add a luxurious spa atmosphere to your bathroom by just adding a second shower curtain right beside your other one. Feel free to tie them up or let them drape down to the floor.

Some showers have a screen door. If it’s looking a little dingy you’ll do wonders by replacing that as well.

2. A New Bathmat

Is your old cloth bathmat looking a little tangled? The truth is, while those fuzzy bathmats might feel good against your toes, they trap in a lot of water and other gunk.

You should either plan on updating your bathmat every few months, or just find one that won’t get gross after a bit. A mat made of teak is a nice option. It absorbs water and has an interesting wooden look that you find at a spa.

3. Update Your Towel Set

Updating your towel set is a very small thing that you can do to update your bathroom. Chances are, you keep your towel set hanging up for everyone to see, so while settle for boring solid colored ones.

There’s nothing wrong with solid colors if you get a bold one that stands out, but outrageous patterns are even better.

4. Frame Your Mirror

A mirror is something that adds a whole feel to a room. It can make your bathroom look larger than it actually is, and you look in it every morning when you’re getting ready for your day.

If your mirror is feeling a little boring than you can take it upon yourself to put an elegant frame around it. It’s a simple little day job that can update your entire room.

5. Add Decretive Storage

Is your bathroom feeling a little cluttered? You can clean up some of it by adding a freestanding storage cabinet. While you’ll have to give up a little floor space, you’ll make up for that by being able to put up items taking up space on your sink.

For an extra decretive flair, you can add a plant to the shelf to make it look more fitting to your bathroom.

Update Your Bathroom Over the Weekend

As you can see, it’s really easy to update your bathroom over the course of just one weekend. All you have to do is add a few new things to make a big impact like towels, a mat, or a storage space.
